Hello to everyone,
Is anybody able to give me information on the two drainage holes below the heater box opening? 
(pic attached)
Looking closer at the holes, they have what looks like two smaller holes for mounting something??? is there some sort of rubber flap or mesh grille that attaches here or is that just the way they are?
Thought I’d ask the question now while I can get to them easy, before I start assembling the front end again

Hi Daniel - There are two rubber flaps that cover those holes. You might find them at a Auto yard (Big M) or Gary Goers may have them. I think several years and all makes of mopars had them.

The flaps can be installed at any time, but it would be easier to snap them in before the engine goes in.

Hi all, and thanks to everyone for the information, Roger I see the part number that you mentioned in the catalogue, now it makes sense! I actually got a hard copy of the catalogue from GG last time I got some parts, BTW, the price is now $5.00. Your not wrong about GG being hard to get hold of, I’m waiting for an email reply from weeks ago in relation to information on the weather strips that I’m after 
, just wondering whether to get them from Bernbaums? but I’m not sure if they have the flocked roof rail that I think Tom Fox mentioned, also a little concerned about their windsheild rubbers after reading bout Mathews horror story of breaking a screen

I got most of my body insulater rubbers from Bernbaums and the quality is brilliant!
Any one got further thoughts on the Bernbaum weather strips? my catalogue from them may not be 100% updated so maybe they have the flocked roofrail in stock by now?

Gary has both types, but you won’t be able to use the flocked type unless you have the strip rails (not the channel rails).

Thanks Dan, interesting reading, I have the strip type and on closer inspection of the seals that I removed I can see that they were flocked, in bad shape though…now to try and get in contact with Gary again

Daniel and Dick, I have looked at Bernbaums online catalog, http://www.oldmoparparts.com and can not locate the part number or even the section they would be in, Can you help me out. I don’t have Dick’s keen "Eagle eye "eyesight! must be the good clean living in Florida and Daniels Austrailia!
I thought they would be in section A.B or even U but no luck. Can you guys help me out where in the catalog they are located in.
Or is it in the Gary Goers catalog, both were mentioned in this thread…

John Q - I have Bernbaum Catalog #32 and they are on page 12. Part #B-140. $7.50 pr. They don’t look like the mate together, should they??
Daniel - Thanks for the pictures of the Mounts from Birnbaum. I have a question, are they supposed to mate to each other. It looks like the hole is to small in one for the other to fit into. Gary goers Catalog #9. page 29 shows #339A with a plain hole and 339B or 339C with a protrusion that fits into 339A. Which one do we use the Tall Center or the Short Center?? each one is $3.25 ea. I ordered the Short Center and received them in about 10 Days. Hope this helps.

Body mount cushions have a collar which centers them in the hole in the car’s steel frame.
This keeps the bolt from rubbing on the steel (which would make noise). 
when you remove the old ones, you will find a collar formed on top of the cushions. This was caused by 50 years of compression, where the rubber begins to squeeze up into the body. The collar points down, into the frame members.
At the factory, I assume they snapped the cushions into the frame, thus secured, the body could be lowered onto the frame for bolting.
Arent there also metal cup washers, and big circles of flat rubber for other body mount locations? (My memory is spotty, but I know I have a handful of them out in the garage).
Thanks everyone! I see on the Bernabaum’s online catalog (in section B)that the B-140 body mounts starts in the 1938 Plymouth, Dodge, De Soto & Chrysler model years and is good to the 53-56 model years for all. It does not show on this online catalog for the 59 model year. But it must. Is the online catalog different then the one you have Dick? The online does not list what # Catalog it is. So it may be old and not updated like the mail out edition.
No wonder I could not find it. I would have never guessed that it would be good for our years without everyones comments. I will get several sets on order for the convert.

John - I’m pretty sure the on-line and hard copy are the same catalog. The Birnbaum mounts and the Gary goers mounts are the same. Both for 59’s. I’m still confused as to how they are installed i.e. protrustion up or down? one with protrusion on top or bottom? Maybe you could take a look at your car and advise! I can’t tell from looking at my car, most are gone totally or only pieces remaining.

Yes Roger I saw your post - I understand the protrusion goes into the hole in the sheet metal but does it go facing down or facing up. Both pieces of the body mount have a half inch hole for the bolt but it seems the plain half would have a 7/8" hole for the protrusion to fit into but it does not. I know a big flat washer fits on both sides of the mody mount and I assume torqueing it down compresses the protrusion??? I’m thinking the half with the protrusion faces up in the hole, the other half goes on top with a flat washer on it, then the bolt is inserted with another flat washer on the bottom, then a lock washer then the nut. What do you think.
