this the way I found her

Soon the disassemble begins.
She has sat in this spot for 15 years, was told she ran n was backed into this spot. The engine paint looks real fresh and clean for a 59 car, tho you cant tell from the engine pic.

yes there is a engine there

ouch

wouldnt let me put on but 3 pics 1st message.
She has a few dents n dings but is a solid car.
LOL i have started with worse…

tree grown around bumper but no real damage to car itself

piece of trim missin on rear door

has a nice grill

Wow! Talk about a camouflaged car! Good find! —john

Somehow I lost my sense of adventure.

Is this what you call a project car?

What are your plans for restoration?

It sure will make a nice ride. The body looks surprisingly solid after its long rest under the trees.

Keep us up to date on the progress.

Must be a relatively dry area for the rust to be so minimal after that much moisture retaining compost sitting on/in it for so long.

I’m curious to see what it looks like cleaned off.

I also noticed it has the two hole brake canister, I’m curious as to the difference.

If those are pine needles I see, you need to vacuum out and flush out the cowl vent …the grille just in front of teh windshield is removeable..gently pry up around the edges…the space goes down a ways and is drained thru holes covered by rubber flaps. Cowl rust is awful…I hope your car doesnt have it.

i bet there is a good deal of rust lurking under all that debris. look at where the tail light was, looks like the sheet metal rusted until the tail lamp housing just fell off. definately a fun one, maybe it’s salvagable, i kinda like old wagons. they r definately more practical than these tanks people call “suvs” :unamused: . --j

Moparluver…

Okay so what is the deal?

There are now two suburbans on E-bay for sale.

A rough 6 cylinder no reserve in Ohio Item number: 280158568559

The second car is complete and running, nice looking 8 cylinder car in Illinois Item number: 150167845229

The second car would be a pretty easy fixer upper and the first car would be great for parts.

both of them seem to be 9 passenger..they both need work, but the one is driveable now. I think the wagon design for '59 is ageless..that is, it doesnt look old or dated…
