Searching dashpad

do anybody selling a dashpad?

These folks used to make them, Michael - but, no longer:

When I last called them on behalf of someone looking for a pad, they said the startup costs were too high for the demand. Perhaps they might reconsider, though, if you contacted them.

When you say this, do you mean that they do not restore cores, or are you saying that they just dont offer full on replacements for those without a core to start with?

i asked them already

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the clarification regarding your 1959 Plymouth Belvedere.

Unfortunately, we are unable to help with this particular type of dash reconstruction. We appreciate you reaching out to us and wish you the best of luck with your project.

Best regards,

The Guys at Just Dashes

@Whiterabbit (Henry), by core, I believe you mean the iron band that latches behind two clips on the upper dash. I sent them mine - twenty or more years ago - and they molded it into the pad. But I know others who bought their pad without sending in the core.

It looks like Michael @nollenberger confirms what I was told - they aren’t making them anymore.

i need this one

Wait!! They’re making them again?!?

Ah… Curiously, it’s listed under Belvedere, but not Fury - although they are the same pad on the Belvedere, Fury and Sport Fury. (Not sure if an option on the Savoy - I’ll have to check. @Matthew_Keij , do you know?)

But it seems they are making them again. Why then, Michael @nollenberger , did they tell you “no”? How long ago was that?

This suggests that, while not standard across all models, a dash pad could be ordered for any model.

the answer is two days ago…

It could be an AI generated answer, or a real person who has no idea what you are asking for but the proper keywords werent included so you got the no canned response.. kind of like when you ask for a part fitting a 69 'vette and the reply is no we dont carry those, we only do corvette parts… lol

@Whiterabbit , @nollenberger - I plan to call them on the phone tomorrow. Let’s get to the bottom of this!

Well, I did call; and the fact that it’s still on the website is a mistake, Anthony said it will be taken down immediately. They said they just can’t guarantee the quality with their processes now - and given that the pad has no metal structure except for the band, they tend to shrink, and they’ve had dissatisfied customers who wait before putting them on.

(sigh…) They categorically will not be making them.

I spoke to my upholsterer; he can replicate it exactly using a special upholstery foam, matching the required firmness and the desired leather color. I’m actually having him redo my headliner now, too. I used to have a fabric headliner, but I’m having a cream-white leather one installed and the dashboard pad made in white leather as well. Sewing and installing the headliner costs 1,000 euros (excluding materials), and the dashboard pad is 350 euros—or 400 euros including the leather.
