I topped of the reservoir after the test drive.
I will check the garage floor for telltale signs tonight, Dick!
Roger, Type-A fluid was superceded by Type-A, suffix-A fluid in the early sixties, which was later superceded by Dexron, Dexron II, and finally Mercon. These are all acceptable for use in our Mopars.

Excellent! Thank you very much for that bit of info. I think now there was Mercon IV in there, plus a bunch of anti-leak stuff. I filled what was lost by part removal and cleaning, with Mercon V.
Although I can’t say for sure whether the leak was coming from the “O” ring or ( 
) the low-pressure hose connection, it doesn’t seem to leak now…
