Organic brake material problem.

Just ran across a problem I hadn’t seen in years. The organic lining on the emergency brake had swelled and basically fused to the drum, totally making the vehicle non moveable. Trying to tow the vehicle to a more accessible spot for loading, also plowing two really nice furrows. The emergency brake was not applied. Backing the adjuster off a few turns, and a few carefully targeted taps and we were free. Rick

Now let’s talk Patina.

Hey, I’ve got one of those adjusters, Rick. Now, where did I get it… Oh yeah, you gave it to me!

More about the truck. Yours? John’s? What’s going to happen with it?

Both trucks belong to a friend of mine. His son wants the cab over engine COE. We were preparing to tow on a trailer, to Tulsa Ok. The wrecker is a 1956 Dodge with a 259 CID V8 poly engine, the 1947 COE 265 L head 6. Some low rent trespassed and stole the gasoline from the wrecker. probably clogged their fuel injectors. The fuel was pretty old.

COE delivered to Tulsa, Ok. A little help from a WWII aircraft carrier tug. Check the hail storm patina adjustment on the trucks finish.

How cool is that, Rick!! Was the COE lying on its side, or was it a horizontal hailstorm?!

The crosswind was from the North, wrong way, we were looking for tornados :tornado: after the hail stopped. On the way back a Tornado was also North of us in Sedgewick County. Kansas. ‘Wichita area’.
