Wow Vic - I thought my 59 had rust problems. Your work is far more detailed than mine, an excellent job. These pictures will be most helpful when I get started on My Belvie Cvt. Could you possible get and send a picture of the inside drain holes at the bottom where the rear windows are. I went a little crazy with the seam sealer (DUH) and used it where the drain holes are, and I’m sure I filled them. My options are to try and dig the seam sealer out or drill new drain holes but I’m leary of drilling not knowing where they will come out at. One last question, where did you find your convertible.
Dick.
Vic - Never mind, I see in the picture with the primer, the drain holes are in the side not the bottom, Now I know I have to dig out the seam sealer.
AArrrrrrrgghh!!!
Dick.
Vic’s cvt used to be in Oregon (see initial post beginning this thread), prior to that it was in Colton, CA, prior to that I do not know.
Great work Vic! Doing it right is the way to go with all the panels! Good welding to!

Hi Again
Hope all are well.
Just thought i would post some more pics. I managed to finally get around and do some work on the car today. Coach builder has been beavering away slowly. Its really coming together but at a slow and steady pace
Getting around to the drivers side now. Replacement rear quarter panel due to go in shortly, stripped it and etched primed it today. My coach builder has refabricated the entire inner rear boot panels and panel that supports the spare wheel. Hope to be taking the body of the chassis soon so i can get started on the underbody and chassis itself.
Engine has been dropped off and hope to start the rebuild soon
Big M has put me on to a supplier in sweden from whom i hope to be getting the middle bows for the CVT top frame
see you again soon
Cheers
Vic
Vic - Outstanding, where on earth did you find a new rear panel. Your car will be a shining example to us all.
Dick.
I agree with Dick. The work you and your coachbuilder/fabricator are performing on your convert is suberb! Keep the pictures coming on your restoration.
John Q.
Nice work!!
Any pics of that blue Maloo in the background???
Cheers guys
The rear panels came off a donor 4door a friend of mine had
It’s served us both well so far
Yes my coach builder is master magician, I just do what I’m told
Getting sick of drilling out holes and removing panels!
Sorry don’t have any further pics of the blue car
Next big head ache is the body colour selectio
I have always loved the copper bronze but the cars original colour was white
My good friend here already has a white one so I don’t really want to copy
Will keep you all posted
Cheers
Vic
Vic, any chance you can get me in contact with the white sport fury vert owner?
You Australians have some great cars over there that we will never get here
I’m kinda partial to Palomino Beige…just sayin… I think your trunk lid back there is lookin’ a little like Palomino Beige. Great work.
Rob
Howdy

Victor - Great pictures of things to come for me on my Belvie Convertible. I love the detail, I hope you send a lot more pictures of the floor replacement expecially the brackets under the seat panels. Beautiful work.
Thanks,
Dick.
Howdy
Yes Dick I will send thru pics as we are doing the floors
Here is another update. My plan of attack is to now work on the chassis
I aim to have a rolling chassis with motor and trans rebuilt and then brought back to the workshop to have the body lowered onto it
Here’s hoping anyway
Stay well all
Cheers
Vic

Vic, you are a great welder! The repairs are spot on! Keep sending the pics of your progress.

Hi John
If only I could be so good. The work you see is that of my coach builder, Mark Stidwell
He is a magician in my mind and as fussy as I am with regards to the end product
Thanks for the kind words
Cheers
Vic
Nice work, Vic!
Is he using a tig welder on the body?
