It appears that my sf has a rear air ride system from the factory. This was news to me, from my body guy, and I know next to nothing about this and I didnt see anything in previous posts when I searched for it, can anyone shed some light on this option?

Cool, @Whiterabbit! You’ve got (at least, the remnants of) the “Car Leveling Device” feature, described in Service Reference Booklet #130!
Very interesting! From what I can see, generally, its the rubber parts that would most likely need replacement and also would be very difficult, if not impossible, to source. I have yet to see what I got personally, but hopefully its at least complete…

Well, as it turns out, the compressor and associated bracketry are missing from the engine. I am guessing it was either removed due to failure or maybe to increase power.. regardless it surprises me that whomever took it off didnt simply cut the accessory belt and call it good… That being said, does anyone have any pics of an engine( 361) with one installed? I cant tell where it would go and how its mounted.. so I have no idea what the set up looks like.
P.S. if anyone happens to have one kicking around with the bracketry I would interested…
I’m not aware of anyone who has this feature, @Whiterabbit (Henry) - so I have no photos to share. But it’s possible that @big_m (John Fowlie) has one in his yard. I’m copying him here, but it may be worth giving him a call - (530) 473-2225.

Hi @Whiterabbit - I was thumbing through my Ross Roy Data Book just now, and came across this!
Not that it helps you any in rebuilding yours; I just thought you would like to see it.
It is helpful, as it lays out things that could be missing… that being said, from what ive been able to learn is that its a rare option; it had a high failure rate and was prone to rust out rather quickly due to moisture build up in the pressurized parts of the system. Most dealerships were not trained to service them and literature was (and is) sparse, so its no surprise that so few are out there
