For reference, here are some photos of a factory air set up in a '59 wagon I picked up in Texas. I have already removed all components from the car. [Unsure whether I will be using this, or selling it as the engine accessories here are for the Poly 318 engine, and i have a 361.
John F. I did not know there was two idlers pulleys in use. It looks like the Generator is driven off the upper 3 pulley one. And there is a lower single pulley set up too for the water pump.
The layout of the AC unit being to the passenger side is the same for my 60 413 RB motor I have in my convert but I could not figure out the belt systems, now it is clearer to me.
These are indeed some rare parts: the two idler pulleys, main crank-mounted 3-groove pulley, the bracketry holding both the generator and the compressor, the a/c-only horn bracket, the pop-up a/c dash vents, the “floor air” pull knob low on the dash, the drier mounting on inner fender, the various copper tubes and valves..
These pictures will CERTAINLY help those trying to stay authentic-looking.
