Hey Guys I need to change some lightbulbs in the dashboard. any advice on how to dimantle the dash? Or do I just start taking out screws and hope for the best? Is there a schematic out there specifically for the 59 Plymouth dash? any help on how to even approach this would be apprecialted.
@eroomas Andrew, no need to take the dash out - if you can manage to crawl under it. Not easy, but this 75yo did it! Dash bulbs are in sockets - remove them, and twist in LED bulb replacements. I’ll ask @Matthew_Keij to provide the P/Ns. Here’s my thread about it:
It looks like they are #57 bulbs, @eroomas . You can get green ones here - you’ll want red ones for your oil pressure and amp lights.
Thanks Mr Faulkner for the advise and chasing down a source for me.. all my light are working accept one one the speedo (Not sure how many are for the speedo, Im assuming just one)
Just of curiosity are green Speedometer lights what they came with factory?
No, they were all clear bulbs. But colored lights make the dashboard pop! ![]()
There are two that illuminate the speedometer. Additionally, there’s windows on the speedometer sides that permit the bulbs to illuminate the transmission and heater/defroster buttons.
