CLEMATIS BY NIGHT - March 3, 2011

I hate to do this BUT this show is held in downtown West Palm Beach at the end of the main street (Clematis) that ends at a new park right on the intercoastal waterway. The large white house in the distance is in Palm Beach, it is the Henry Flagler Museum. Henry Flagler was the Multi Millionaire and partner of Rockerfeller (Standard Oil) that developed South Florida and built the Terrestial Railroad to Key West Florida. The house was his Mansion in the day. It is absolutely Beautiful, his personal Railroad Car is parked alongside the house. You will also see in the background My 150 foot Motor Yacht and my 150 foot Sailing Yacht.. I had on hell of a time getting all three of them there at the same time.
Dick.

WHO’S THAT GOOD LOOKING OLD FAT GUY.

THIS IS BILL AND LINDA WITH BILL’S BEAUTIFUL CUSTOMIZED 58 IMPALA.

WE GOT THERE EARLY, MORE CARS SHOWED UP LATER.

NOTICE MY MOTOR YACHT IN THE BACKGROUND.

YOU CAN ONLY SEE THE MASTS OF MY SAILING YACHT IN THE BACKGROUND, IT’S REALLY BEAUTIFUL.

Beautiful photos, Dick, thanks for posting them!!

Dick,

At least us Northern and Western members can tell it was not a perfectly sunny and warm Florida day - Jackets and wind and some cloudy skies. But at least you had your yacht and your land yacht to take cover in if things turned wet!

Thanks for the education on Flagler. His influence stretches all the way up the Eastern Coast of Florida. We usually stay in Daytona/New Smyrna Beach area and the streets are named after Flagler in these areas.

Thanks for posting the pictures these are great.

Curt

Dick,

Thank you for posting pictures with people not wearing shorts for a change! They are great pictures but I already knew the story on Flagler, when I was in Florida we met this nice couple that gave us a tour in West Palm Beach and told us all about him. I think we also drove by his mansion.
Next time we’d like to make a trip on your motor yacht

Ron

Better close the car door Dick or you will run down the battery!

John - That’s how I display the swivel seats at car shows, I also have a small bungee cord to keep the doors from swinging open. I have a disconnect on the battery. People get a real kick out of the swivel seats.
Dick.

Gosh Dick! I was just jabbing ya!!! I have seen you do this many times in some of the pictures you have posted and it is a great idea to do that so people can see a neat feature on the 59’s on the swivel seats. I hope I remember to turn off the battery power…

You do look dashing with your two masted schooner behind you, (could be yawl instead , but can’t see where the mizen mast is in relation to the rudder post… :unamused: )

I thought the wind in your hair was from your Jet Ranger warming up on the Helicopter pad…The cut of your Jib is evident in your proud stance! :stuck_out_tongue: No one person should have all that going for them!

John Q

Flattery will get you everywhere, all I want to know is did I look “Cool”.
Dick.

I do think you accomplish that with that fleet of Forward Look cars you have in your stable! “Kool” with a capital K!

You need to get curb feelers for all your cars and then you will be Kool!

John Q.

Curb feelers, White mud flaps and a Coon tail would really be “Kool”.

Dick.

Now you are Detroit Styling!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
