What is the procedure for bleeding brakes on my Savoy, like wheel to start and so on.
Leonard,
Furthest cylinder first - that would be passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front. Oh yeah, don’t do 'em all at the same time ![]()
Keep an eye on the fluid level in the master cylinder - as long as you don’t let air in from here, you’ll be OK. Best to have a helper and to hand-tighten the valve before they let up on the pedal, but if not, a bleeder kit with a one-way valve.
I am sure Doc '59 will have additional advice, prolly better advice.
Dan
Leonard, I found backing the brake adjustment off fully helps, leaving no room to trap air in the cylinders, the front cylinders are angled and tend to trap air. This trick helps a lot. Also slow pedal actuation avoids making foam or trapping air. Readjust your brakes after you are done bleeding them.
Thanks guys
