Prior to the advent of videotape, television shows were recorded by kinescope - focusing a motion film camera directly on a television monitor. The Lawrence Welk Plymouth Show that ran from the fall of 1958 through 1959 was one such show, and each show was chock full of 1959 Plymouth commercials.
Most of the commercials shown here were extracted from the full length shows, leaving behind the other content - because it’s all about the 1959 Plymouth, doncha know! In many cases, the commercials are grouped in the sequence they occurred for the show date. Since commercials occasionally repeated, you will find duplicates in shows from different dates.
Commercials shown in the later posts were not extracted from full length shows, and come from various sources. I don’t know the show date for these. Regrettably, many of the old kinescopes were lost or destroyed, but we can hope that some will yet turn up. If you know of any extant 1959 Plymouth commercials from the Lawrence Welk Plymouth Show that don’t appear here, please let me know - or add them to this thread yourself.
