Doesn’t look all that arresting to me, but it’s a 59, in 59.
Oh, Kewl, Mr. Tester! I guess it’s a Savoy? I don’t see any trim anywhere…
BTW, although there’s only a hint of a headlight and grille on the car to its right, I’ll bet my bottom dollar it’s a '58 Chevy.
Dan
That’s a 58 Chevy for sure!!! I know it! I love that car
And just in case any of you are at all interested, heres a pic of my 59 Chev Impala,in the spring im going to take some pics of it and my Belvy side by side.
Bob
Stunning, Bob – absolutely stunning.
I had a friend with a '59 Chevy wagon. He rolled it one rainy night, 'cause the wipers were vacuum controlled and there was a downpour. He walked away, but the beautiful bronze wagon was totalled. (sigh)…
Dan
My 58 Chev had vacuum wipers, used to hate getting caught in the rain anytime i was out in that car,the 59 has electric ones cuz its an Impala and it was standard on those, optional on other models,my Belvy has electric ones but only one speed,i believe 2 speed was an option?
And btw Dan,did you like the “ebay anthem” i sent you??
Bob
Oh man, a total hoot – let’s share the wealth!
Dan
two speed wipers were available for 59 Plymouths..
Glad he walked away. Are you sure it was a '59? According to all my '58-'60 literature (and yes, I know not to believe everything in print
) '58 was the last year for vacuum wipers on Chevys. Only available as the base wiper motor in six cylinder '58s. Starting in '59, you had a choice between electric one speed wipers and electric two speed wipers, the latter with a washer pump.
