DECISIONS, DECISIONS, WHAT DO I DO?

Guys - Please help me out, there are car shows Thur. Fri. & Sat. Should I go to all of them or maybe just one or two. Just checked the thermometer on the back porch, it’s 79 degrees, good convertible weather (top down of course). Maybe you guys can answer a question for me, when its winter for ya’ll do you have sleigh show you can go to. One drawback for living in south Florida is I have to get on my riding mower and cut the grass, think I’ll do that now.
Thinking of you all.
Dick.

Dick,

I really feel sorry for you, making all those choices must be hard :frowning: And then you don’t even get a real winter and have to keep going to car shows all year long.
We are glad that our season is only from April to September and we only have to sacrifice a couple of weekends per year. And a lot of the weekends we can avoid going to the show because it is raining

Good luck with your decision from a cold (48 degrees) and rainy country!
Ron

PS can I come with you to the show???

Dick,

Such hardship!

Must be nice to be able to go to car shows all year round, here today in Toronto Ontario, its 23 degrees, windy as hell with a trace of snow on the ground.
I put both my cars away for their winter sleep back in October!
But, as Ron said, im sure you’ll make the right decision and can i come with you too?

Bob

This just in!!!.. Low in Denver last night was -5 degrees! My garage is at least -10 degrees! No work on the convert this past week, Too Cold!
Dick, What are we going to do about you and your gloating!! I think you should move up North so you can experience the cold that we do.
I can’t even imagine to live in an area that is warm all the time. What we can accomplish with that type of temperature all the time.
Maybe I should start sending some sub assemblies down to you…But you are in the middle of your own 59 tear down so maybe another time.

Temps this weekend in Denver will be in the middle 40’s so that won’t be too bad to work in.

Enjoy the sunshine!

John Q.

I’ve found the old cars last much longer if refridgerated. Thats why I live in this “Hell Hole”. 10 this morn with the wind a howlin. Steve

Steve - Now that’s funny. My wife said you got me good and I agree. I can’t stop breaking up. Refrigheration is good but because of Perpetural Global warming in South Florida we have to use Epoxy Primer for long life. Let me see, as I understand it all you guys seem to be standing ankle deep in Global Warming. Keep those mittens close.
Your Friend,
Dick.

Dick, I have arranged for you to sit in a local Palm Beach Piggly Wiggly (or is it Winn Dixie) commerical Deep Freeze to understand our hardship with Mother Nature.
I can’t find one big enough for all your Fin cars, So only you have to endure the cold.

Cryogenics is wonderful!

John Q.

So where are the pics of the car shows? And pics where we can the sun reflect in the stainless trim? And if you get tired of all the sunshine please we would be more than happy to take some from you, temps between 20 and 30 degrees and I can’t even remember what summer feels like

Ron

Well I kinda know how you guys feel, rained last 3 days, some flooding south of me in the Fort Lauderdale area. Missed two car shows, only thing I had to do was work on the 59. Woke up this morning and had to turn the AC off, it was 60 degrees outside and overcast. Guess that leaves going to the beach out (4 miles from my house). Not raining now so I may just cut the grass, grows real fast with all that rain. Well I’ll just have to wait for next week, there will be a car show every day except Christmas, weather is supposed to be real nice too. May Santa’s old car parts elf bless you and bring many nice needed parts to you all next year.
I pray that all of you and your family have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous and healthy new year. HO, HO, HO.
Your friend,
Dick

I’ve got a one man car show in my garage, ain’t goin’ nowhere – that’s because Mother Nature dumped 18 inches of snow on Philly yesterday. The walk is clear, the car is uncovered – now to clear the deck above the garage (for the second time).

So, thanks for the good weather wishes, Dick! It could be worse. Look at Santa’s troubles:

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Dan

Before…

On top of old Faulkner, all covered with snow…

…and after. Now, where’s that liniment?! :imp:

Dan, where is Bailey in these pictures? Hopefully she is doing well with the path you shoveled for her to do her business. That is a lot of snow! Hopefully Faulkner had a good set of Snow tires with studs on them!!

With that Red color the neighbor kids would think Santa Dan is making his rounds!

But I am sure he (Faulkner) is snug and warm in the garage…Right?

John Q.

Boy-Mother Nature gave us a pass on that storm!! Sidney missed major snow by a thread. Am planning to install my Carlisle aquired gas tank and John Fowlie aquired filler neck etc. soon. Will convert my trunk mounted fuel cell into a moonshine tank and put the old plym to work when the roads clear in the hollows. So if you notice a faint gasoline smell next time you crack open a mason jar you’ll know why. Merry Christmas everyone. Steve

Hey Guys, I didn’t mean to P____ you off. I know, you are trying to get even by sending me some of your cold weather. Took the dogs out this morning and snuck a peek at the thermometer, 48 degrees, had to go back inside and turn on the heat and get a jacket. By the way do ya’ll get a funny smell when you turn on the heater, maybe it’s just because its the first time I turned it on. Worst of all I had to wear a jacket to the car show yesterday. It was real funny watching people trying to stay in the sunny areas, normally we are looking for the shady spots. Oh well, whats a car guy to do in weather this horrible, guess we will have to wait it out a couble more days. All is not lost though, I can work in the garage today, all I have to do is turn on my powder coating oven and leave the door open. Should work, what ya’ll think. I probably told you guys the cost of a new garage with lift is a new kitchen but at least you get the old oven for power coating. Hope you guys can get to a car show soon maybe it will improve your dispositions.
Your Friend,
Dick.

Grrrrrrrr! One of these days Koch…Right in the Kisser!

Now, Now, John - I don’t need one in the kisser, ya’ll done enough already, it was 39 degrees on the back porch this morning and may stay that way until Friday. Back in late 70’s we had snow flurries here in Palm Beach Gardens, hope it doesn’t happen again. Just remember I have to endure this misery another whole week, this Global Warming is a bitch ain’t it. I guess I’ll just have to take a day long power nap. (I think you guys call it hibernation). Oh, if you guys ever make it to South Florida stop by and have a Ice Cold glass of Tea with me.
Your Friend,
Dick.

Double GRRRRR!!!

One of these days I will head back down to the AARP state argain (I am 54 now, so I have to be careful what I say) I have a cousin and two uncles in the Sunshine state. So one of these days I will take you up on the Ice Cold Beverage and watch you work on your Fleet of Forward Look Mopars.

Normally, the closest I get is Wimington,North Carolina, where my Parental Units live. Still too far away from South Florida. The older I get, the more I think being warm all the time is better! For some reason, we have had one heck of a cold fall and early winter here in Colorado. The garage is so cold, but with the addition of a propane heater, it’s not to bad.

Take care Obi Wan Koch, May the force (warmth) be with you!

John Q.

John - You better hurry and get down here, I’m 73 and the cars are #1 on my bucket list. You know how it goes, OPEN MOUTH, CHANGE FOOT. It was 40 degrees on the porch this morning, even the dogs were shivering. Nice and sunny though.
As far as the heat in Florida, I always say I can cool off a lot faster than I can get warm.
Wishing everybody above Orlando a warmer winter.
Dick.

Dick,

Guess what, there was a newsbroadcast last night on Dutch TV about the cold wave in Florida :exclamation: They said that it was freezing in places where people never had temepratures that low. We are so sorry that you have to suffer so much right now, and even more sorry for the shivering dogs  And Marjo has a bed ready in the store where she works, the government is warning about snow coming this weekend and no salt to keep the roads good enough to get home :frowning:

Our dogs do not want to go outside anymore, the street we have to cross is like an ice-skating rink. It has been snowing and freezing for so long now that all cities are out of road salt  Tonight we had about 12 degrees and in the afternoon it “warmed up” to 22 degrees :sunglasses:

The good news is that we will go to a warm and sunny place in the US next month, we considered Florida but we changed our mind after your weather reports and will go to Arizona and Nevada instead. When we go to Florida on a next trip maybe please make sure you have an Ice Cold Beverage for us.

Ron

Who’d of ever thunk it, all I need is to have you guys “man up” as to who sent this cold weather. All I did was tease you guys a little bit. Yesterday morning it was 38 degrees, this morning it was 40. Got up to 50 during the day when normal day time temp for this time of year is 75. OUCH. Even got Ice, It rained all day Satuday, the wife always catches rain water for her plants and the water froze. See Pitchures. Ron, no salt is a good thing!! My dogs are eager to go out but are even more eager to get back inside. If you ever get to South Florida make sure to try and stop by for that cold glass of Ice Tea or adult beverage.
Dick.

DON’T LAUGH, ICE IS A BIG THING IN SOUTH FLORIDA.

I KNOW YOU HAVE TONS OF SNOW AND ICE.
