Beware.. The license plate indicates it has an extra chromosome, I also wonder about the engine displacement.
This person likes RED, RED, RED! So why does he call the interior TAN?
Does a 392 bolt the Plymouth tranny? If not, guess he coulda used a Chrysler tranny, but then wouldn’t you have to change the pushbutton cluster?
1954 to 1958 Chrysler Hemi engines bolt directly to the 1959 Plymouth A engine Bell housing.
Good to know Rick! I know you use to make the adapters rings for the old Hemi’s to the 727’s (or still do!) I did not know they bolt right up.
John Q.
I noticed the XX YY part too… Thought it was close to that plate you got for you 70 Challenger convert that was XY 27.
The tan interior looks protected by that old school plastic covering too!
John Q.
Looks like this guy is either trying to hide something with the blurry pictures or needs to learn how to focus a camera.
- I don’t see plastic seat covers?
2)That interior is RED, on my monitor!
3)After-market radio - Might be missing lens from roof rail light
- headliner falling down (he did divulge that)
If you hope to get the best possible price in a sale, don’t post blurry pictures!
Roger, you are right! the interior is red. I was looking at a 58 Plymouth at the same time I was posting a response on the 59 plymouth. And that car (the 58 Plymouth) was originally Buckskin Beige but painted red over it, and had the plastic covered beige interior. My Bad for making everyone crazy on that comment of mine.
here is the 58 Plymouth that I got all mixed up on…
Again my bad for the confusion on the two Plymouths!

John, Evidently your 'Cuda is adversely affecting your thinking. I will store it for you until you feel better.
There is a lot of things that are bothering me all the time! Work, kids and when will I ever get to drive my 59 with all this darn snow!
I did manage to put the rebuilt power steering pump in the 59 today so that is progress. Now to re-measure the drive belt for the water pump/dampner pulleys with the addition of the all important Idler installed now! ![]()
If I need some Pacific Northwest storage Roger, you are the first I will call!!
You would look good in the Cuda! it is red with a white top and interior. 340 44bl auto.
John Q.
no more red cars for me.. ![]()
Car is now up to $18K bid with 8 hours to go. Looks like the 392 Hemi and a red Sport Fury Combo is a hit with Ebay-er bidders… ![]()
John Q.
For the rest of us, can you explain what this “XX YY” on the plate means?
Bob
Will look for his reply, but in the meantime, I would assume he was making a joke, based on seeing the (totally random) license plate figures. In chromosome-speak, there are almost always TWO figures, either XX or XY.
To see THREE figures means an extra chromosome, a genetic defect.
Sorry to have jumped in here, I need something useful to do!
Sorry, that was rude of me. Rick’s wife has a Pink 70 Challenger Convertible and he picked up a 1970 Colorado license plate with the" XY 27" on it. XY is DNA code for a male, (XX for a Female) 27 is the body style code for a Convertible for Chrysler, Plymouth & Dodge in the late 60’s and 70’s. he would have loved to picked up a 1970 Colorado XX 27 plate for his wife in that same sequence but chances are slim of finding that sequence at a swap meet.
By putting the XY 27 on the car as a "Year of Manufacture’ he would be slyly stating it was his car when in fact it was her car.
So it was kinda of inside Joke that I should have explained better to others.

For some reason my brother Tom, the geneticis
, figured it out quickly… ![]()
My bad (yet again) for not explaining it to people and keeping them in the dark.
John Q. (the village idiot!)
