1959 Plymouth parts needed

Congratulations, you have found parts cars for your needs! But because it is a Pick-A-Part place, you will need to drive up there and beat the bushes to find and pull your parts. It can be fun… I made many an excursion into overgrown, wet, muddy salvage yards to get my parts. Very memorable indeed.
With John, you can have your parts mailed to you.

We can’t wait to meet you! I am not sure about the cars that will show up but my best guess is:
Dan’s Sport Fury https://59plymouth.net/showcase/morton/index.html
Earl Hess with possibly 2 Sport Fury’s if he can find a driver for the second one (htp and conv) https://59plymouth.net/showcase/SportFury/Hess/index.html
The Wilson’s who also have a hardtop and a convertible Sport Fury https://59plymouth.net/showcase/wilson.html
Gino Gentile with his Sport Fury, no showcase yet
Steve Storey with his convertible (maybe) who hasn’t got a page in the showcase yet
Dieter Bauer with his Fury https://59plymouth.net/showcase/Fury/Bauer/index.html
Mark Coudriet and his stunning Fury https://59plymouth.net/showcase/coudriet.html
Ken Morton with the 4 door Fury https://59plymouth.net/showcase/Fury/Morton/index.html
Curt Lambdin with his Savoy, no showcase yet

And maybe some other’s will show up as every year we have some unexpected visitors. And there will be also several 59 owners who will come but leave their car at home just like I do. I know John will be there but also Jim Rawa, if you want to learn about building your car talk to him!

Ron

Lots of 59’s to see, I love it! <3
I got an e-mail from John at Big-M and he has quite a few of the parts I need. Between him and Ron, that’s almost every thing.
I still need:
the lower front valance
push button surrounds
front chrome strip with clips for the hood
front turn signal lenses

Wow the list got short fast, thanks so much.

Maybe we can make your list even shorter, I must have a front chrome strip for the hood somewhere but we need some time to locate it. We might also have used turn signal lenses and some push buttons. I am sure we have some pretty good push buttons too but I want to keep them as spares as they are really hard to find in decent condition.

The lower front valance is probably the hardest part to find and if you’ll find one be prepared to spend serious money :unamused:

Ron

Thanks Ron,
Please don’t give or sell me the push buttons then. I really don’t want to impose on any ones “personal” stash of parts. I know how hard they’ve been for me to locate in the states, I can only imagine how hard they are to find there. John at Big M hasn’t replied on those yet, so there is still a chance to get them from him.
If you have the front strip though, and can spare it, that would be great. John at Big M doesn’t have one.
The front valance I will have to wait until after my wedding to find one. I’m sure your right, if I can locate one it will be out of my price range for a while. That’s OK, 95% of the people who see my Savoy don’t realize it’s missing. She doesn’t look bad without it, just incomplete in my eyes.
If someone has a picture of the proper clips for the hood trim strip, can you please post them, I have a feeling I may have to fabricate them, I’ve had no luck turning any of those up. Or maybe if I knew what they look like I can find them at Carlisle. (fingers crossed)
Once again, Thanks everyone for your help.
~Jeff

We might have a clip of the hood trim , will try to find it this weekend.
I’ll check all of our spare parts and if i have time enough i will polish all the stuff we have for you

Thanks for the offer Matthew, but don’t worry about polishing the parts, I can do that. You and your father have done so much for me already, Just knowing parts are coming is enough. Thank you so much.

Some years ago, I had very good results getting parts from Mike at www.classicautopartsonline.com.
Mike Waller is in Idaho.

A contact I never tried, but I see their ad every month in Hemmings for years and years:
“Parting Plymouths 1935-1988, good sheetmetal, good brightwork, 4,000 cars. 208-536-6607 Idaho”

Well, as long as everyone is looking for parts for Jeff, I am also looking for a left parking lense too! Hopefully I can grab one before Jeff at the Carlisle swap meet.

John Q.

Engage Ron and Matthew to find you one on eBay. They are the BEST!

John, I did find these on eBay, but they are too rich for my blood right now, but they are available. Only ones I’ve found so far.

Thanks for the link and number Roger, I’ll check those out. I can’t believe I forgot about Hemmings. I haven’t bought one in years. Time to find a good magazine shop.

Jeff

Brain slipped, Forgot I need to locate the kick down linkage to my powerflight. Sent off an e-mail to John at Big-m, Thought I’d try here too. I have all the accelerator linkage, just need the piece from the pivot to the trans. Thanks again,
Jeff

I completely forgot to mention Forwardlook Frank, he knows a bit about building a 59 too :unamused: Hope he brings his pictures to show you what you can make when you have two shells…

Ron

I wish I had room for a second shell, or even to just store some spare parts. I have a single car garage that only has 2 inches of clearance front and back and 1 and a half feet on either side. It’s mighty scary backing in. Only about 6-8 inches leeway on the garage door when I back up, 3-4 inches off either way and I’ll be a very unhappy camper. No room for even my tools, have to keep them in the basement, and bring them up every time I work on her. Defiantly no room for a parts car, barely enough room for my car. :frowning: Worse part is my city won’t give me a variance to build a bigger garage, they won’t even let me build a shed. I have to keep my motorcycles at my parents in the winter, and my lawn mower lives under a tarp. I suppose I could get some fenders and a some spare glass in the attic, but a full shell is right out.

Sorry for the slow update, Exciting times,
I’ve ordered parts from Jon at Big M. He found a front of hood trim piece, the clips for it, and the linkage for the transmission.
Carlisle is right around the corner, I’ll get to see some '59’s with my own eyes.
With Ron’s help my 59 will be mostly complete by my wedding.
I’ve got one of my visors made, the new headliner is installed, and have purchased vinyl for the door panels.
The only parts I didn’t find were the front valance, turn signal lenses, and push button surrounds.
I didn’t know if I could pull this off in time, but it looks like I will (fingers still crossed).
You all are amazing, Thank you for the help and guidance.
Jeff

I just checked our parts, found the dash trim without the hole for the mirror.

We got 1 turn signal lens, left side but has cracks in it. Want us to bring it?

Has anybody tried Murray Park lately? mbpark@cbodies.com
In business since '77, Mopar only, in Ohio. I’ve always had luck with him.

Matthew, If Jeff does not want the cracked one, I will take it. The one I have is missing a chunk of plastic. But will defer to Jeff first since he started his wish list first.

John Q.

Thanks Matthew,
That’s that’s the dash piece I need. My turn signal lenses have a lot of hair line cracks, and the drivers side is missing a small chunk, John’s sounds worse off. Mine will suffice for now, so if John needs that one I’m for it . After recovering financially from the wedding, I’ll resume my search for the lenses, button surrounds, and the valance. (Unless I find any of that stuff at Carlisle  ) My biggest worries right now are my door panels, and getting weather stripping.
Thanks again,
Jeff
