Hello fellow Mopar lovers, I recently picked up this 1959 Plymouth Savoy, no engine in trans from Arizona pretty solid car. It has a few holes in the floor and trunk and the passenger corner needs repair. What I’d like to do with this one is keep it stock looking. I wanna switch out the 14 inch rims for 15 inch hubcaps or dog dish style, i’ve got a 392 four barrel from a 1958 that I’m gonna put in it and build it like it was a 1959 superstock car if that makes any sense not that they made one from the factory, but maybe they did know about it that’s what I’m looking to do. I’d like to upgrade the brakes to the front. I would like to see what Mopar rims are interchangeable to put on this car. I’d like to run skinnier in the front wider in the back and any pointers as to bolting the 392 or what I might need engine mount wise to do that I have a 1964 Dodge with a 361 and a push button Tran. I don’t know if the trans is interchangeable , this is my first 1959 Plymouth build so I’m just getting familiar with the “C” bodies.
Thanks in advance
Welcome aboard, ..uh - didn't catch the name. I've always loved that custom Savoy Sportone trim!
As much as I hate to admit it, I suspect you will get the answers you want on Facebook, particularly in the Forward Look Owners Club (FLOC) run by Jim Rawa.
I see that you also posted on For C Bodies Only. While there weren't any C Bodies (yet) among Forward Look cars, you're likely to get help from that group too.
Good luck with your build, and please post pix of your progress here!
