Engine compartment detail

Post by Robert1959 »

I have a 1959 plymouth Savoy with the flat head 6 cylinder motor.I am in the process of detailing the engine compartment. I would like to know what color the heater hoses should be.The one's on the car now are red. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

I always assumed "black", with red being an early-to-mid 60's replacement item. To my mind, black blends in better..looks more sedate

My car had a gasoline heater, no hoses! Too bad, it was new, too.

Thanks for the information. I think I might just change out the red hoses and install black ones.
