weatherstrip woes
(*sigh*) there's apparently a early 59 upper weatherstrip, and a late... Bernbaum sent me the early, but I need the late. Here's a pic of the weatherstrip end on, and the channel end on: http://www.59sportfury.net/59forum/pix/a.jpg I'm sending it back, Steve's going to send me the right stuff. Dan

No glue
It's obvious: The stuff from Bernbaum locks onto the channel. In fact, the channel is removable. In fact, I can see now that the channel must be removed when I go to take the upper stainless trim off for polishing (and, the interior upper rail for rechroming). So that's what it's all about... The bo...

IT'S OUT!!!
The old, upper weatherstripping pulled right out of the channel. Then I was able to pull the window right out. Hmmm... I wonder if the stuff I bought from Bernbaums, will lock in that channel the same way, without glue. If I ever have to take the back apart again, it will be an important considerati...

rear window, revisited
OK, I'm off today. I gave up on trying to get the roller out of the channel without removing the regulator. The regulator removed quite easily, and the roller quickly slid out of the channel. Alright! Now, to remove the window itself. The manual says the window should be all the way up, and slid for...

(*tap*, *tap*)... hey, is this thing on?!
Roger complained that he had problems with the board. I don't know if it was reaching it, or posting to it -- so I'm trying a post. There have been times when it's been down briefly while the service provider did backups, but I haven't had problems... Roger, are you not getting anything? Maybe the p...

FTP'ing your files
There are several good programs for transferring files (FTP -- File Transfer Protocol). But you can even use Internet Explorer to transfer files. Here's how: 1) Point your browser to your directory with ftp -- ftp://members.59sportfury.net 2) You will be prompted for your username and password. 3) A...

Free member accounts!
Folks, I've added a subdomain to our web -- members.59sportfury.net. I'm offering to each '59 Plymouth owner a free account with 25MB of space (honor system for now); perhaps more, if my quota doesn't get blown out. Here's what you do: 1) Send me a private email, requesting an account with the usern...

oil light comes on
I took Faulkner out for a drive yesterday. The old 318 runs great, and burns very little oil. Not bad for 85K. But the oil light does come on, particularly when idling. It disappears around 35mph or so. It's occurred to me that I might have a clogged sensor, and I intend to replace it. But is there ...

Sorry about the problem, folks. It's the site the pic is on -- it doesn't support linking. I snagged the pic and put it on our site. Soon, anyone who wants an account will have the ability. I'll lay out the rules shortly. Here's the pic: http://59sportfury.net/59forum/pix/cody.jpg It's beautiful, Co...

The ongoing saga of my power window motor
Well, it turns out that Tom was right: With the motor assembled, the bushing sits in the will and there is no side-to-side displacement of the armature -- no danger of rubbing against the field magnets. However, there is a lot of end-to-end play -- not that the retainer would prevent that either. Bu...
