Matthew, The window pivots on an axis that is determined by the post that extends downward and is welded or brazed to that bottom chrome bracket. If the vent window is loose, it sounds like that post is broken, in which case you would have to remove it to repair. My vent is also broken, but in a dif...

Well, Faulkner does use a little oil -- but not a lot, so I do occasionally see a whiff of smoke. But no, the head gaskets are fine, no leaks into the crankcase (with telltale beads on the dipstick). It's all under the car. Fortunately for me, I believe it's the one directly above the starter, which...

OK Folks, here's the problem Matthew is talking about: vent.jpg Matthew writes: It is that piece with the piece of paper behind it. The thing where you can open the window it attached to it. That's the vent wing handle, Matthew. I've seen them on eBay from time to time... Anybody have any luck repai...

Our newest (potential) member!
Thanks to Matthew Keij, who spotted this potential victi...er, member, on forwardlook.net! Matt Helm writes about his '59 Sport Fury: I do indeed have a '59 Sport Fury--a 2-door hardtop with 44,000 original miles. This is a very special car (at least to me) because it is a 100% original survivor. It...

All's Quiet on the '59 Front
My opinion on why the website is so "quiet"...navigating the site is complicated! Same format as ForwardLook. I realise it is probably the best format...Dave Stragand says so, and you chose it as well... Roger, Actually, my choice had little to do with it! The discussion group is based on...

... When is the black SF in the showcase?? As soon as I get back to take some more pictures! The ones I took ended up being too dark. I've scanned pix of the car when it was white, and some from when he was tearing it down to rebuild... but now to show off the finished product! Stay tuned... Hey, w...

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World!
Check out the new videos! http://www.59sportfury.net/ephemera/video.html Several clips from the chase scene involving two '59 Plymouth taxicabs in "It's a Mad , Mad , Mad , Mad World!". Know of any other movies with scenes of '59 Plymouths? Let me know! Thanks Dan
