Re: Oil Filter Canister

I seem to recall I went thru the same thing years ago. My bet is the main gasket got mis-aligned or got crud under it...this would cause a big pond in short order. Drain the crankcase, take off the filter inspect it very closely, clean it up thoroughly, put your finger into some oil and run it aroun...

It isnt clear to me if you have in fact switched to a later-model adapter.

Re: brake problem

Sorry to say, but if your pedal loses "resistance" over time, the master cylinder is leaking internally. Yes, you have a new one, but I will say it is no good...gert another one..

the Mopar man whose name shall not be spoken

Today I Googled Mopar Mel, to remember which town he lives in, and I came across an item on a lawsuit filed against him in 2010. Interesting reading...some guy contracted to have a Belv HT restored and "upgraded" to Sport Fury...with all the additional options, he was ready to shell out $6...

rough SF near Fargo

Someone on the ForwardLook site spied a rough SF for sale sitting alongside Hwy 10 outside Lake Park, near Detroit Lakes, MN. See the post over on FL site. Someone grab it before MM gets it!

Re: Dick's convertible project

We don't see you sweat..only see the finished product. You make it look so easy.
It all looks brand new.
Thank you for sticking with the photo journal concept all these many months.

Re: Tell me true, am I lacking in posting skills?

Some days I think I am too sensitive, other days I think about the loss of etiquette and simple courtesy these days... Mom taught me to use "Please" and "Thank you".. I guess people view the Internet as a human-less place to find free information...no need to involve humans and t...

Too sensitive..hmmm
The Internet is more impersonal than I imagined.
I have no car parts, Dick.

Tell me true, am I lacking in posting skills?

I read the posts, and where appropriate I comment, and do research and post advice... I t seems to me that when I DO post something useful, more often than not the thread goes dead. How should I view this? Am I somehow insulting people? Am I truly providing useful info that people can act on? Is thi...

Re: 1959 Belvedere Convertible

8200 for a 59 Belvedere cvt w/ incorrect drivetrain and unknown interior. The market seems to be changing!
I guess from a vintage racing afficionado's POV, this is a desireable car. I wonder if former racer and fellow Listmember Bernie B. from Massachusetts knows of this car?

Re: 59 Sport Fury Headliner

Just went over to Forwardlook and ran a search for mopar mel's interior kits. Made the hair stand up on my neck. Unless you are a gambling man, with plenty of muscle to back you up should things go sideways, you are better off making your own headliner. Better yet, figure out how he is generating th...

Re: 59 Sport Fury Headliner

just a comment from me: Yes, Dick solved his immediate problem, fixing his own strips, but MM got away with yet another flim-flam. I discourage everyone I can from patronizing this guy. He seems to always come out ahead while screwing the mass public. He used to mention his kids and God in his ads a...

Re: 59 Sport Fury Headliner

Nobody on this list has purchased one from him, as far as I know. Maybe someone on the Forwardlook list has. Having ANY dealings with MM is a calculated risk. He is a shapeshifter...all smiles on his website, but has a history of sellling substandard repro stuff. The list goes way back to when he wa...
