...and here they are! Todd (Montana) can be reached at [snip]. The car was his father's. Looks to be in very decent shape! Re: Drive belt wobble
I don't like the fact the alternators on a large arm that I think might even have some give when you really tighten the belt. Mike, that could be the problem right there. At certain engine speeds, that extended arm could vibrate at its “natural frequency” and exhibit the fan belt motion you are obs...

Re: Drive belt wobble
Ah, I didn't read correctly; I thought at first perhaps a pulley was wobbling. That doesn't seem to be the case. The crankshaft pulley is providing the pull on the belt, first the water pump & fan pulley, then the alternator pulley. Any slack in the belt will appear between the alternator and th...

Re: Drive belt wobble
Loretta has an alternator, Mike? Not a generator?
Any chance you can take a video, and post it here? Perhaps then we can advise.

I'm very pleased, and now just waiting on the SMS door panels. And waiting. And waiting. And... The wait is over! The panels have arrived!! So is the customized Ford next to it, Mark! Honestly, I never saw so many half-finished projects in my life. What this guy could have been thinking, I will never know.

Re: West Virginia Motherlode
Bernie, sorry I didn’t take a pic of the whole car, just the grill and hood (ornament). The pic is just before the last set of Pontiac pix. She called it “The Bison Car”! I should have updated this post, as I did on Facebook (damn FB! ) - the woman is no longer taking my calls, or responding ...

Installing A/C on a Poly 318
Recently Dick Koch installed an air conditioning system in his '59 Sport Fury with a 318 motor. Here's how he did it. I found a Sanden air compressor bracket at Bouchillon Racing in South Carolina, but it works only on 1962 and later 318 Poly engine that came with a factory alternator. It won't work...

West Virginia Motherlode
On a visit to my brother in West Virginia, we swung by a property where the widow of car collector is looking to sell off his menagerie. What a motherlode! Lots of MoPars, but many other brands as well. Including a Kaiser! There's a very special Cranbrook - I think, a '52 - that has an overdrive tra...
