Wiring Harness Questions/Picture Request

Hello gang,

I'm in the process of installing a Painless wiring harness in my 59 Plymouth. This is my first time installing an aftermarket universal wiring harness, and although wiring doesn't scare me, I do have a few questions for those that have done this before in a '59 Plymouth.

First, where ...

Re: How does the roof rail seal install into the retainer?

I believe you may be right. I attached a photo of the ends of both styles of weatherstrip that I have.

I bought these from Andy Bernbaum’s eBay store last November; they are listed as 1957-1959 Dodge/Plymouth 2 door hardtop roof rail weatherstrip. But they definitely differ from yours, so maybe I ...

Re: How does the roof rail seal install into the retainer?

Hello Dan,

My name is Brian.

The metal piece I had in my hand is the 1st of the three in the photo (on the right side)

I have 3 metal pieces that look like they go around the roof opening. I do have a manual which shows this image, but I can’t really gleam enough from it to figure out how this ...

How does the roof rail seal install into the retainer?

I’m a bit confused as to how the roof rail seal slides into its retainer - if that’s what the metal piece is called.

The grooves molded in the rubber aren’t shaped in a way that would allow it to slide into retainer.

I figure it’s one of three things: 1) I’ve got the wrong roof rail seal, 2) I’ve ...

Re: Heater housing bolt size?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the reply! I have that manual too, and you’re right - that number is basically meaningless! Let me know if you find anything - I couldn’t!

Heater housing bolt size?

I apologize for what is likely a ridiculous question, but what size bolts are used to bolt the heater housing to the firewall? (707 heater).

I didn't take my car apart, so its sort of like putting together a puzzle with no good picture of what its supposed to look like. None of the bolts I got ...

Brake pedal return spring

I need a brake pedal return spring for a 59 Belvedere with manual brakes. I don’t have one at all, so I don’t even have anything to measure to match it up to a new one. Anyone out there got one they don’t need?

Caribbean Blue - what color do these parts get painted?

Hello,

With any luck, my car is off to the painters at the end of this month. I am having some trouble locating information on what color certain parts of the car are painted, especially interior parts.

My car is a 59 Belvedere 2 door hardtop, Paint Code DD, with an 311 interior code. Caribbean ...
