Well, all work comes to an end. I thought I assembel the engine for a nice final picture, but there are still too many parts missing or not ready yet.

The carburettors are not yet assembled, oil cabs and PS-pump are still without the propper paint, but the engine is ready to be installed. My only concern is that the motor mounts will not fit.

This is as far as it get's for now. Carburettor overhaul and reassembling as well as the Pertronix-convertion of the Distributor and some other features are part of this project but I’ll show that later in another topic. For now it’s time to get the engine in the car.

- pull the 318

- remove bell housing

- strip the 361 again - less weight - easier work

Finally, after two weeks I have the motor mounts right where I wanted them to be. I spent 105 $ at the first blacksmith. He placed the hangers in the middle but then the oil pan was laying on the cross member. Then I spent another 15 $ and did it myself - Now it is perfect.

And while I'm waiting for some parts comming in from California I do some small works:

The valve cover bolts need a new heli coil insert

remove the old mufflers and put a pair of new KYB shocks in the front end

- well, a pair of Smitties should take care of the sound.

- the only way is to take it apart - completely.

- I couldn't figured out how it is possible to get so much carbon inside the carburetor?
