valance wanted

Post by roliboni »

Hello to all.

I am Roland, from Luxembourg, and i'm new here. I drive a 59 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door sedan. I bought before 15 years and completely restored the car immediately.
However is missing the front valance with the part on top.

Does someone have an idea, where I can get these parts?

thanks

Roland

Welcome to the Forum, Roland. I noticed that you tried to upload an "avatar" for your posts, but my service provider does not allow me to keep the directory open where those images go. So I took the liberty of making one for you, opening the directory, putting it in, and closing it again. If you want a different one, let me know. And send me more pix please!

Valences are hard to come by, as is the shelf above. You might be able to get a used one in decent shape. John Fowlie, any help for our friend in Luxemburg?

And if anyone else needs an avatar, let me know!

Dan

I currently do not have any front valances that are remotely repairable. I've got a few more '59's spotted, but haven't gotten my mudhooks on them yet. ---John

Hi Dan, that was it which I wanted. That is exactly the correct picture which I for avatar had planned. Thank you.

and hello John

Those valences are really difficult to find. Also with ebay it is difficult. The condition is not important in principle. I have the possibility of preparing it again.

(sorry for my english, it´s not the best  )

Hi Roland,
I have the top part of the front valance, but not the lower part.

I too have the "shelves"...I have two, buyt shipping such a large part abroad is too expensive. I gave away a smashed valance some years ago and I think the guy never did anything with it. I should phone him...

These lower valence sections appear to be really rare parts commanding quite large ammounts of cash!
I am also looking for the same item, i bid on that one on ebay up to over $400 and still no joy, outbid again! :(
I suppose i will just have to keep looking eh?
Which one of you lucky lot got the valence then?

I still have the original upper and lower valance although, I need to "rework" the lower since there are dents in it. Guess I'm a "lucky one" but not from bidding on ebay!
