convertible tops

anybody want to discuss tops? My car is at the shop, and I supplied them with an Acme top. The plastic window is full of tiny indentations...could this be caused by 45 years of sitting on a too-hot shelf?
Is Acme a good quality top?
Does the top have cables or springwires at the edges over the door glass?
