A question about Poly 318s

I received an inquiry from a Plymouth Owners Club member, about an engine being offered for sale. It's got the scalloped valve covers that are the hallmark of Polys - here's the information he emailed:
BTW - Faulkner's 318, which I bought from eBay represented as a '58 block, is stamped with LP8 + a serial number.
I've read that the casting number was shared among a number of displacements with the same block - just, different strokes and bores. But I understand from here, that the stamp indicates a '58 318. Does anyone have a differing opinion, or additional information? And, were the Fury 318's, different than the standard 318's in 1958 - and if so, in what way?POC Member wrote:On block in front of and below left head FLP8-072978

The engine and intake are painted silver with black valve covers.
