Seat Belts-Swivel Seats

Post by safety6 »

Would like to install lap belts on driver & passenger side swivel seats, in my 1959 Sport Fury. Has anyone done this or are there any suggestions?

Appreciate any shared experience/tips.

Regards,

Like Mr. Koch, I have them installed in my car. Make sure you allow enough room to go around your waist when seated.

When you do install them on the floor, use a large diameter fender washer on the underside of the floors to give sufficient resistance on any pulling forces should there be a need for a severe braking episode. Just don't want the bolted floor end part to pull thru the metal floor in case of a hard brake or God forbid and accident. Grade 5 or Grade 8 bolts are recommended for strength. I will take a pic of my mounting area for you today before the day gets away from me.

I have the seat pulled all the way up to the front for a good view. Do a trial fit to make sure you have enough belt lenght in your seat positioning,
