oil pump shaft

can something who has had a 361 apart recently tell me if the oil pump shaft has a twist in it down at the oil pump end.. mine does and i dont know if it was made that way or if something froze and twisted it. thanks, pat

The schematic in the Parts Book (p. 10AB) doesn't show any sort of twist.

i have a 60 manual and a couple of other sources and the pictures arent enlarged enough to tell. i pretty much need to see another actual shaft.

Oh, that's right, you said it was a 1960's engine. Sorry, I looked at the '59 Book.
I bet your local parts store would either have one on the shelf or would order one in just so you could have a look.

it is out of a 59 savoy , i just happened to have a 60 imperial manual. there was only a supplement for 59 plymouth and i never had a 58. but i am assuming all the oil pump shafts were the same from the time the B block was introduced in 58.

I must have confused you with someone else's question. If your engine is '59, I reiterate the schematic in the Book shows no twist. More I cannot offer.
