Mecum Auctions sells a SF cvt

Post by rogerh »

Just now, Mecum successfully auctioned a red SF cvt for 53K, to a man in their Florida audience named Alex.
"Alex" was buying a lot of cars. I wonder who he is?
I doubt we will see him here on this list!

It will be intersting if this one's serial number can be determined. Noticed the absence of lower rocker panel moldings, which would mean a very early car if original. But the lack of dash pad, and evidence of mounting holes suggests the dash is not original to the car. It does look pretty good in the pictures on the Mecum website.

I didn't notice the missing dashpad. You are sharp-eyed, Bernie! I did notice that no photo showed the upholstery or door panels, I was suspicious it didn't have factory upholstery.
I thought about calling Mecum to ask for the VIN #, but I will leave such searches up to Matthew Keij.

Okay, I DID end up contacting Mecum, asking for the VIN #. I have NO idea if they will provide, although they did reply to ask me if I was inquiring about the Verde Auction Plymouth...
