How to fix a P/W switch

Post by Matthew Keij »

Today I opened the DS door. 1 of the switches on the master switch didn't worked.
I opened the switch and followed everything one the Imperial Club site (see here: http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Elec ... /index.htm).
If you open the switch it is exactly like the one on the pic.
Our switch was full of corrosion. Used a dremel tool (like it says on that site) to clean it. Worked out really good.
Now, the problem I had and that wasn't on the site. The springs under the switch! Rusty and they didn't do their job.
New switches are really expensive and you can't find new springs. So here's the best solution:
Take an old pen and take it into parts. Grab the spring and cut it. Cut the spring a little bit longer than the springs from the original switch. Replace them and put the switch together. Works great! Good and cheap solution!!

Great job, Matthew. Look at how much money you saved your dad:
