Jukebox Fair Rosmalen October 1, 2011

Post by Ron Keij »

Yesterday we went to the Jukebox Fair and had a great time! Early in the morning things did not go very well as we had to return home after about a mile to bring back the convertible  We knew there were issues with the drive shaft but Matthew was confident enough to try it anyway but after he filled up the tank the car started to shake like crazy so he decided to leave it in the garage until we can fix it. We took of with the hardtop and with an average cruising speed of 80 mph we were there within an hour. Met lots of friends there and had almost no time to look at the jukeboxes. I did take some pictures though:

These first two pics were made by a friend who is at every car show to take pics, for those who like to see cars his website is https://sites.google.com/site/appie462/

Tell Matthew a few less trips to get hamburgers will allow him more time to get the driveshaft fixed! :P

Looks like a nice day there to boot!

Uh-oh, maybe U-joints? It's all those miles you've put on her!
Prematurely worn-out U-joints is what doomed our family 's Suburban. Dad traded it in in 1964 (barely 5 years old and less than 100K on odometer) for a brand new 1965 Suburban.

I think you are right Roger.... Matthew likes to do burn-outs in the convert. :o

Matthew was looking for a dust cover boot for the drive shaft but he may need more then a boot to get the car back on those Dutch roads.

Just recently he mentioned the tires were failing!
New tires, new carb, new Pertronix, new U-joints, re-built P/S pump, re-built folding top and power seats...Can you guess what's next? (that engine has 85K on it by now, and that rear end is original to the rustbucket Iowa Belvedere).

I think to many trips to get burgers! Most of the miles on the car were made to get food  But now the car show season is over and he will have time enough to fix it as we hope to get out again in April. He needs the dust cover for the spare drive shaft we have but we will rebuild the one that broke down too so we have a spare again, it'll be burger season before we know it :!:

I hope that most things are fixed now but you never know, anyone have a spare rear end :?:

Ron - I repaired the rubber boot on the front universal of my car with "Goop" a clear flexible adhesive sealant. I have an extra boot you are welcome to when you get here.
