Hello All,
I remember reading out there one of you had the correct installation procedures for the rocker moldings. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. The body shop has covered the holes by mistake and I need to reaccomplish them and seal them. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't help here. With my recent move to this apartment, and the sale of the car, I don't know where the factory instruction sheet went. I want to think I included it with various papers I sent along with the car. The Keijs are not going in their garage...too cold!

Roger, I have the sheet witht he locations on it that you gave me when I bought the clips off of you. I will scan it and send it to Frank on Monday, Unless my kids can show me how are scanner at home works...

Frank, if the body shop has covered the molding holes with filler, it is fairly east to locate them by using a small but powerful magnet. If new steel has been welded in, you will need a template.

I went through all the paperwork but there is no template for the rocker moldings. I didn't have to go to the cold garage for it as we keep the paperwork in the livingroom until we sorted everything out, after that I will scan it all. I must have a template somewhere though, I will check my old emails tomorrow.

Did find the written instructions in an old email from Roger where he wrote: I found the written instructions, but not the diagram.
Read carefully to determine how many clips you should have.

I never had a template. I did have the cover sheet (the one Ron just posted). The second page of this notice has a small diagram, and instructions.
I previously sent of copy to JohnQ...he has that page and has plans to fax it to Frank on Monday. Maybe he will post it on the site as well.
While it's best to uncover the existing holes, the holes can be put anywhere along the rocker, the critical thing is the spacing between each upper and lower hole, because a clip has to snap into each pair of holes. Oh yeah, and the holes must be in straight lines, or the molding won't fit the crooked clips!
(Matthew will eventually discover that I missed getting one clip on the passenger side to fully engage, but no worries, the molding is secure!)

On my Belvy, I have marked the location of the Rocker molding holes using a Sears Tri-pod laser line (used it for the drilling of new molding holes in the SF and Fury Doors that are now on my car).

Really helps hold the horizontal measurement line to make sure all is in on the same plane.

Frank, have not located the sheet that I know I have. It is in my study and a lot of stuff was jammed in the study for Thankgsiving and am trying to locate it and the darn tri-pod laser level. Hope to find it still today.

Frank! A Christmas Miracle happened and I found the instructions (tucked into my 57-58 Plymouth Manual) So I will be scanning it on Monday and posting it for you.

Thanks Guys!!! Sorry I took so long to reply. My personal email is fwdlkfjw@verizon.net. I've been working on my garage the last few days. Last year when I was in the sandbox 2' of snow collapsed my workshop roof. A new garage is in the works but until then, I needed to fix the old one before more snow lands! I've been working on carpentry instead of automotive hobby time. Thank goodness for the help from my Stepdad and mother today to 1.) show me how to properly brace the roof and 2.) pump the floor jacks in unison to raise the roof. What a day.
