My ex-wife Pamala phoned today to ask me if I would consider entering my car in a small show out on the Olympic Peninsula where they live...the show coincides with my/her (so confusing!) grandaughter KaylieAnn's birthday (perhaps she is 7? sorry, crappy ex-grandfather). The thought is she could sit up in the back like a beauty queen, waving to the multitudes during the show.
I agreed. I mean what the heck...drive the 75 miles over there and give her a BD present she won't soon forget. Any tips on how to seat a 7-yr old on the upper back of a convertible?

Roger, if she is sitting on the top of the rear seat, and of course the top is down, I can only think of having some sort of lap restraint that could tie into the side convertible top rails for a temporary fix. This lap belt/rope/sash could just fit across here lap to keep to her from rolling off rearward or off to one side or another in a slow moving car.

She also may be able to hook her feet under the rear seat belts for stability too.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Although their feet didnt touch the seat bottom, the car's speed was so low, there was never the slightest problem. (also, because the top doesnt fold down as much due to the hardtop wheel wells, there is a handy little seating area)
