Contented Now!

Post by Faulkner »

They're pouring liquid gold into my back yard as I type.

It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, next to the birth of my two kids (and my wife, of course :) )...

Congratulations Dan - I'm really happy for you. I finished my end to end two car garage on the side of the house and am now going to put at the end of that another garage 14' x 28' with a two post lift so I can work on my cars, I found out the other day at age 70 you really, really need a lift. Then I can store one over and one under. I will send pictures as soon as you explain to me (again) how to attach pictures.
Thanks,
Dick.

Dick! You can't believe how good your email made me feel. I'm closing in on 56, and wondering in a maudlin kind of way, how many more years will I have to work on my MoPars... But to be 70 and going strong like you is where I want to be! Thanks for the "lift".

Two more phone pix, one before the pour, one after...

Smooth, yes! Clean -- as long as I keep Faulkner off of it! But give the pour a month, I'll have a coat of epoxy paint on it before Faulkner ever visits his new home.

Dan - Before you take the Epoxy Road go to Costco, I was there the other day and they had big rolls of Grey Vinyl Diamond plate looking garage flooring. I thing the size was 8 or 10 feet by 20 feet. Supposed to protect your garage floors from all that Gook and easy to clean.

Good idea Dick -- let me check that out... I've got plastic ramps, they shouldn't tear it up much (never did get around to that lift idea! But then, Marie probably wouldn't want Faulkner coming through the roof onto her deck...).

I looked on their website, Dick, this is the closest thing I could find -- obviously not it:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.as ... d=11135903

$200.

Hey Dick, did you ever get back to Costco? If you can get me a part number, that would be great -- I'll call the local store.

Thanks

Sorry Dan - Just got back from New Orleans (10 days) Nieces wedding. I must admit I also forgot, when I saw your post I jumped up and went down to Costco (3/4 mile) and got the info. The one they have in stock here is:

No. 112281
7-1/2' x 17' Diamond Tread
covers 127.5 sq. ft.
No adhesive required
.075 thick.
weighs 110 lbs.
$179.99

Company is G FLOOR
PHONE 913-894-0403 EX. 21
web site: www.g-floor.com

They also have 9' x 20' and 10' x 24'. If you price these, let me know.

Dan - I have a good friend that just built a 4 car garage with a lift about a year ago. He put down a very expensive epoxy floor and its starting to come up in pieces about the size of a dollar bill. He's very disgusted and is going to go with the G Floor vinyl.

Dick, this is clearly the way to go -- no fuss and no muss. I'm going to go for the 10' x 24' -- the inside of my garage is about 15' x 24', I'll roll it out on the "Faulkner" side. After I price it, I'll post here.

Thanks for the lead!
