1959 fury value.

Post by zook250 »

we recently had our fury appraised for insurance and the appraisal amount , i feel , is a little low. the car has been appraised at 20,000.00 canadian funds. the company that did the appraisal is a specialist in classic cars. the appraiser had a hard time finding comparable cars to find out the market value . is there anyone or any sites that may have a listing of 59 fury's that have been sold c/w the selling price? the only car he found to compare it to was a 59 belvedere. we have been told by many people that the value should have been closer to 25,000.00 - 28,000.00

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Hi Curt, I looked in a copy of the Old Cars price guide, and the figure you were given was close to theirs. However, Being in the old car business, I have noticed that actual value is quite a bit higher for '57-59 Fury Models. I recently purchased a '58 Fury for 6000.00, even though the guide valued a # 5 car about 3600.00, and there was one that sold on E-bay recently in similar condition for a bit over 24,000.00. Keep an eye on these auctions, as these can be used to determine value to an insurance outfit as well as appraisals. Remember, that insurance companies receive your premiums with a big smile, but if a claim is filed, they will try to give you zilch. ---John
