59 Fury 383/727 swap-trans linkage

Post by skyhawk61 »

I'm currently doing a '68 383/'63 727 Torqueflite swap into my '59 Fury while the car is apart for restoration. Those of you who might have done this mod, did you have any problems getting the old transmission/throttle linkage to hook up correctly? If you did, how did you work around it? The car was originally a 318 and cast iron Torqueflite. Thanks for your help. Dennis

Years ago I installed a 69 440 attached to a 62 A-727 torqueflite into a 59. I only remember cutting down 1 piece of the kick down linkage something with the transmission mount. It was pretty much painless.

A 383 is a bored out 361
Find a set of 59 361 linkage , The Kick down rod is unique to the 361 , See page 14AC of the 59 Parts Book for a good picture and part nos.
