Bernie Brouillet sent me this oddity from BangShift:

Live coverage on where I found this pic, will check in later to see how it runs. Not flathead powered, or Poly either! Actually, doesn't appear to have any power in this picture, but I've seen a similar drag car in Australia that goes pretty good with a blown Hemi.

This one must be just for show today.

In the same vein, Bernie offers this article from DragZine, which I have attached here.

I know I've seen apictures of at least one other drag car with this body style, powered by a supercharged Hemi; this one has a "milder" power plant.

The Saratoga nameplate must be like the more-often-seen Canadian Dodge, etc, for overseas customers, mix and match body panels. Years ago J C Whitney carried fiberglass fenders for the 57 - 59 Plymouths but I never saw any in person, wonder if anyone else did or even has some? Modern race bodies are carbon fiber layups.

And, since you were fretting grilles recently, note that this Saratoga grille is rather reminiscent of the 1942 Chrysler grille, more so than a 59 Plymouth.

The goodies keep coming!
