Hope all had a nice Christmas and getting ready for New years

Some further update on the power seat
I've found someone who's going to do a 3D print of the solenoid sleeve for $30 from that I hope to then make the new solenoid
Found out it's a .6mm gauge wire with 3.2ohms output
Should be approx 34m of wire - will be fun winding it up!!
Will keep you posted as to how it goes
Here's some pics of the before

Best wishes to all for 2017

Sweet! What do you think about running a long bolt through the sleeve and putting it into a drill? At low speed, you could wind the core left to right and back again in pretty quick order. Or maybe it's the kind of thing that best done manually with a bowl of chips in front of the telly 8)

Like your thinking Dan :D
If I do my maths correctly then that trick might just work

Got my 3D printing back
Came out spot on
JB welded the brass connector
Set up and tested my rig to wind up the coil - seems to work ok
Hope to do the actual one tomorrow all being well

All was going well
Finished a coil then realized the wire had sliced thru the plastic
Tried the second one and same thing
Getting new ones made with a thicker wall
See how we go

Coil complete and installed
All working well
Ended up getting the coil wound professionally as my homemade version just wasn't producing enough current
Details on the card for future reference
Cheers

That is super!!!

Are you going to make them avalaible and sell them? I might need one but I need to check the wiring and some other stuff first. Have so many projects on the car but I want to finish some other stuff first

Cheers guys
I'm happy to assist anyone who needs one

The 3D printing cost me $40 for the first prototype and then $10 for 2
The winding cost me $100 ( reckon I can get this down to about $50 as they now have the specs)

Sing out if anyone needs one made

Also had word back today that radio and record player should be good to go - really happy about this

Currently looking at 50's tissue box holder as I'd like to put my aftermarket radio head unit in it

Will keep you posted on outcome

Cheers

Vic

Update
Radio working but no luck as yet with the record player
Back in the shop it goes again
Meanwhile been playing with the speakers for the aftermarket unit
Decided to hide the front speakers behind the record player
Made a frame to hold them and brackets to support both back of record player and speakers
Also made a tweeter holder as well
As you can see trying to hide as best I can so as to not detract too much from the originality of the dash
Will paint the holders either black or brown so as to try and blend in

Looking for some help please

Wondering how much space there is in the trunk when the top is folded into the well

I am thinking of making a parcel shelf using the frame from a 4 door hard top

Just need to now how far down I'll need to set it

Plan to mount my speakers and amps below it and then finish it off almost like a hard top

Some pics to show what I mean

Also found a light for the trunk that was mounted in the correct position

Hi Vic - excellent idea. I ordered my top well and boot from Gary Goers and they both fit perfectly. The well hangs down with only an inch or two from the floor. You will have to mount the shelf much lower than your pictures indicate. I will lower the top on my car and let you know how much clearance there is. Give me an hour or two.

OK Vic - My trunk floor is carpeted and the top well just touches the carpet. With the top down l measured 5-1/4" between the carpet and what l felt to be the top lowered into the well. I've included a picture of the top well in the trunk and another of a junk box l always carry with no problems. You may want to consider mounting the speakers in the beauty boards on each side below the fins.
