59 Plymouth driveshaft.

Post by 53619PLF »

Hello,

What are the differences between driveshafts for a powerflite versus torqueflite transmission car with a 318 powered car? Is it just the length, or are the u joints on the front end to the transmission different as well? I am assuming they probably are, but will ask here.

I have a 59 torqueflite transmission that I am going to put in my car, and it does have the linkage that comes up from the transmission, but I do not know if there are parts missing or different from the powerflite that I am removing.

If driveshafts are different, I would be interested if someone has a complete driveshaft assembly for a torqueflite Sport Fury.

Thank You

I know the rubber boots are different but I have no idea what the difference actually is.

My guess it might have to do with length. Torqueflite is longer then a powerflite maybe?

My interchange books show a difference in shafts between the two. there is only 1/32" difference in length, I would try it myself. Rickymopar
