Subject: 1959 Plymouth Ephemera
Importance: High

Hi Dan,

Great web site! I stumbled upon it via the Plymouth Fury WebRing, and I’m glad I did. We are working on a new show for Spike TV called “Spike 52: Favorite Cars”, a 2-hour special airing on May 23rd, transporting the viewer to a new world of rare exotics, amazing custom hot-rods, legendary muscle cars and even every day rides that turn heads.

We are in desperate need of photos and video of the 1959 Plymouth Fury. I am hoping that you would grant us permission to download some of these images and/or video for use in the broadcast. I am especially interested in the ephemera clip of the premier of the 1959 Plymouth clip you have on this page: http://59sportfury.net/ephemera/video.html. Do you have the rights to this clip or know who might? We’d love permission to air it.

I apologize in advance, but with our air date of May 23rd, we need to hear back from you within immediately. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Lisa

About the Show
Spike TV is producing a 2 hour special called "52 Favorite Cars". It's a look at some of the most exciting, popular and fun cars of all time. We'll talk with celebrity car owners, famous drivers and collectors as well as average people on the street to find America's favorite cars. But without your participation, we've got nothing. Visit the website to become a part of the action!

Lisa,

I don't actually know who owns the rights -- and, I'm probably violating them! But I digitized the video from this tape:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW

Perhaps if you contact jungeorge (R Atkinson - Riverhead, NY, neptune2@optonline.net) he can provide further details...

Hope this helps. Keep me posted, and thanks!

Tom Fox, Ed Ober, Chuck Haze and myself shared the spotlight for a few brief moments in Spike TV's "52 Favorite Cars". We're in segment 11 -- here's the promo (our cars don't appear in it):

This week I'll digitize the segment and put on our website...

Really cool! Maybe they had to put the address of the site in small letters under it ;-)
