Brakes on Sport Fury

Hi. I got to checking the brakes on the Sport Fury. They were supposed to have been all rebuilt prior to me getting the car but not so. It has 12 inch x 2 1/2 brakes (front and back). Was this standard for a Sport Fury. In 59 Three plane brakes were introduced part way through the year. This is an e...

Re: Glove box removal

Hi I could not get the heater out without removing the glove box. The bolt and spacer at the top beside the heater control valve was inaccessible for me. I took the glove box out again ,repaired it and reinstalled it. I found that the glove box wants to catch on all the heater box irregularities ,sh...

Re: Glove box removal

This simple job is getting more and more complicated. I initially had the glove box and heater out to repair the cardboard parts of the heater. I never did anything to the heater water control valve. It wasn't leaking. It should be done as well, while I can get at it. Napa in Canada does not have th...

Re: Glove box removal

Hi Dick Does that mean a new box will somehow go back in easier than the old one. I repaired the old one and reinstalled it and in doing so pretty much destroyed it. A new one will cost me about 100.00 by the time I get it and if I go that route I want to avoid destroying it. I am going to try to dr...

Glove box removal

My glove box was in poor condition and after removal to work on the heater and heater control it was even poorer. What is procedure to removing and installing the glove box. It seems the glove box can't be removed with the heater in place and the heater can't be removed with glove box installed. It ...

inner door stainless trim 59 SF

HI. I am looking for the inner door stainless trim that goes towards the bottom of the door panels on a sport fury. It goes across the width of the door on the line between the piece of carpet and the vinyl on the door panel. Some other cars from 57 58 or 59 may have a similar piece that would work ...

Re: 59 Plymouth Convertible courtesy lights

Thanks Mark. That explains a lot. I could not see not how the socket could mount on the curved surface but that dimple as you called it gives a flat surface to mount to. I think I can duplicate that. I will wait until I receive my sockets before I try. I had to make the left pocket as it was missing...

Hi Mark YnZ is another source for wiring. They are out of California. Just Google YnZ and they will come up. I talked To Greg Leggatt of Ontario Canada this morning . Re: 59 Plymouth Convertible courtesy lights

Hi Mark Thanks for the pictures. They will be good for reference as I go along. The part I was really interested in was how the bezels snap on. It looks like there are little pins inside the socket that they snap over. It will soon be clear. Yesterday I was lucky as I purchased a pair of sockets from...

Re: 59 Plymouth Convertible courtesy lights

Hi Dick
I did search prior to asking. All I found was a US supplier . A Canadian Supplier may work better for me if there is one. Thanks John
