Re: Heavy Lifting

Hi John - Good luck with the new lift negotiations. This one is a Car Park 8 plus - bought thru Best Buy Automotive Equip and it does seem to be well made albeit lousy directions.

Heavy Lifting

Received the biggest package ever a few weeks ago and with the help of a big backhoe and loading dock at a friends tire store managed to unload a 2000 lb package of 4 post lift, transfer the still immensely heavy pieces to my shop, erect it today and got it lifting. The directions were terrible, ie ...

Re: Early Hemi Racing

Funny how memory works or doesn't work - but my friends truck was a l956 - with a Y block and the years must have been 64 - 66. So these 56 - 300b's had been around awhile.

Re: '59 Fury 2dr HT in NYC

Welcome Donald - I recently had my rear bumper re chromed by Tri-City Plating in Tn. I ordered it then exchanged my core at Fall Carlisle. I think they need a month or two heads up time. They seemed to do a wonderful triple plate job for a reasonable amount - $610. The beauty of exchanging personall...

Early Hemi Racing

The early Plymouth racing thread brought back my memory of early racing at the 1/8 mile Fonda drag strip near Albany, NY. My friend and I would take his 52 Ford p/u for usually uncontested runs down the strip for a trophy, this to impress our girl friends I guess. Of more interest though were the Sh...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible

Hi Jerry-Welcome to our site. Great score you made. I've a 318 convert and am up in NY state east of Binghamton. Mine suffered much early abuse from an inhospitable climate and collapsed barn, but is still a "chick magnate" ho ho! I've been working on a rusty old MGB-good luck with your Sp...

Re: Mecum auction Kissimmee, FL Jan 28th

I've got to agree with you Roger-The parade of over restored cars become numbing after a bit. I've got a slew of old cars i've fixed up so they not hard to look at and will usually start. I can see the attraction to perfection, but its all alittle too rich for my blood and of course the skill levels...

Low Mile Mopar

Anyone notice the 59 Belve hardtop in Old Cars Weekly 1/12 with 396 miles? Supposed to be in the Jan Mecum-Kissimmee auction. Guess it needed a hood and out of barn repaint!!

Re: Getting a start on the convertible project

Brings back memories of my fruitless hunt for a Plymouth trans. mount cross piece. Finally found an Imperial cross piece I cut in half, bolted the two pcs. in and welded a piece in to extend it. I think all the Imperials had the x frame with a too short cross member.

Re: police car

A friend "retired police" sent me an email with pics of many old police cars. Many look like cars that used to chase me around.
