Re: Classic car insurance

I am also a long time State Farm member, over 45 years. I insure my home, four vehicles, and a car trailer all with State Farm. I find them very competetive.

Re: Dick's convertible project

I believe in the photo with the boot snaps, it is the seat back and the seat bottom is folded up against the back. You can see the seat frame with the arch that goes over the driveline hump. The next photo of a seat bottom might be the front bench bottom but doesn't really look like 59.

Re: New to this forum-From Portland Oregon

Had a chance to stop by Clif Davis' home and see his 59 Sport Fury hardtop. It is a very solid, complete running car. The interior is redone correctly in bronze and is excellent shape. Dash pad is very good, just needs to be refastened under the dash strip at the bottom. He has asked about a 361 air...

Hey guys, don't forget Don Mack from Medicine Hat, Alberta and his Belvedere hardtop. He had his car down to Portland for the Plymouth National meet in June 2010.

Re: Removing instrument cluster

No, the new windshield is going in the Belvedere convertible. It is here and I have the old one out, but need to clean up the rubber seal before I put the new one in.

Re: Removing instrument cluster

Here is a photo of my SF eye. It is mounted at the center of the instrument cluster, about i/2 inch back of a line across the fromt of the ribs (see photo) With the unit having a curve in the mount and the dash being curved, it would appear the sensor would be mounted to be level. John Q, please not...

Re: Removing instrument cluster

Here is some information on the inline ratio adaptor to correct a speedometer error. If you give the speedo reading when the car is going 60mph and the year and make of the car, that is all they need to build one. In Portland OR their price is $97.50 plus shipping. I would be happy to order one and ...

Re: Removing instrument cluster

Now that I think about it, you probably don't have measured miles anywhere. Probably will have to follow your driver car to measure 60mph, hopefully it is dual labled with Kilo/mph.

Re: Removing instrument cluster

The reason my Belvedere convertible's speedo was off, is the rear end ratio is 318 instead of 331. It came out of a later model Chrysler.

Re: Removing instrument cluster

The in line adaptor is the best way to correct a speedometer. They are available from most speedo shops. If you give them the speed difference numbers, like what what your speedo actually reads when you are driving 60mph (a mile a minute) They will load the proper gears in a little housing than goes...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

John,

Roger's donor hardtop was a LA built car, M294101172.

The underside of the cars I have and had have been gray. Most were a different color of gray than the inside of trunk and under hood. I have painted my cars the same gray underside, under hood and inside the trunk.

Re: Kid looking for a long lost SportsFury

I have never seen the car you describe. There is a yellow 57 Plymouth with a 440 crossram in Oregon, and the ram tubes are polished, but not the roof. I believe the roof is white.

I saw this car in July at a Mopar show in Salem.
