Re: local car for sale

'60 Dodge...like them too. I remember back in '60 while attending a school at the Coast Guard Training Station in Groton, CT, the base photographer had a '60 Dodge. Don't remember anything I learned in that school but I remeber that Dodge :) Remember it probably because I liked the fins. About 3 yea...

Re: A Kid Named Fin

The Packers didn't look too good early on tonight against Falcons, but a win is a win.

Have to catch that glee show.

Finley Quinn (Fin Quinn). Now thats got a ring to it.

Re: Moulding clips

Ok, I guess I understand now. Gotta give you guys who are rebuilding these cars credit. Don't think I have the patience. Little things are ok but time for the bigger stuff just doesn't seem to be there. Right now my car whistles once in awhile. Got a vacumm leak in carb gasket. Had it all summer, ju...

Re: A Kid Named Fin

Thanks, guys for the congrats. Ron's got a point, heck with the nursery books...car books it will be. We were thinking about getting him a little Green Bay Packer jersey and one of my other guys reminded us that there is actually a player on the Packers with the last name "Finley". (Jermic...

Re: Moulding clips

Dick - I did not have to do my roof rail weatherstripping so know little. If I understand correctly, you're saying that your passenger front window rolls up into a channel type WS like your rear window does and front window is geting caught in channel.???? On my car, only rear window rolls up into c...

Re: A Kid Named Fin

No, unfortunely not. I think I'm the only one in family who knows who Exner is.

It's kind of weird - the little guys ears appear to have that "swept back" look. :D

A Kid Named Fin

Geesh, since I posted on here last, I think I've had at least 3 grand kids come into the world. Kinda neat thing is, one of my son's named his newborn "Finley", and of course sometimes we call him "Fin" for short. The other Grandpa is kind of jokingly insinuating that they named ...

Re: Moulding clips

Just a little (or long) note on Restoration Specialties - a few years ago when they were at the Iola Car Show/Swap Meet. I inquired about door weatherstripping. At that time they didn't have any kits for '59 Plymouths. When I told them I had my car in the Show Field, one of their guys visited my car...

Re: Suspension Parts.

Ricky - Thanks for thorough info on front end parts. RockAuto isn't too far from me.

Jason - FWIW, a few years ago a local MoPar dealer ordered power steering box parts for me.

Re: Battery Hold Down

Great question. I often wondered about this myself. My car has the straight across top bar. Don't know if this is correct or if the zig zagy one is. Anyway, mine is straight. Just a little side note on batteries. I have a modern battery in my car and took the mfg stickers off. That way it's all blac...

Re: 59 Plymouth Jack

Just checked my parts book and you're right....(again :D ) pics show the fender ornaments on the '59's. Never was aware of that before or else I forgot :? That would be a rarity I would think...the fender part, not my memory  But like you, I wonder if they actually put them on any cars. If I pu...

Re: 59 Plymouth Jack

By golly I guess there is a trunk decal for the '59's. But what's that '58 trim doing on top of those '59 fenders. Was reading an old car mag awhile back and I think it was Tom Cahill that called these "cheese cutters". I looked in both my SF trunk and 4-dr Fury trunk and neither one has a...

Car Jacks

Seeing car jacks are a topic.....got a question. What do you guys carry for a jack in your '59's for actual use? You'd surely not use your Mopar issued bumper jack on that nice chrome bumper. I carry a small 2-ton floor jack (in a case) and a cross bar lug wrench in my trunk. I'm thinking I might ch...

Re: 59 Plymouth Jack

Just went out and checked the jack in my SF. I have the rectangular base, hollow mast, short curved hook, and I have the longer jack handle. Which type is correct? I don't know. Maybe both are. Maybe certain factories had one type and another factory had the other. I keep all that stuff secured unde...

Re: Fin Visitor

I think he has a '74 Charger but he did mention a '69 Charger somewhere nearby but it was just a shell and he expressed interest in it but I couldn't comprehend everything he said about it. The '69 is my favorite by the way. He was kind of checking out my door locks and asked if I had a dog, etc. (j...
