Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

Dan,

9 out of ten times, it's the heater valve diaphragm that has ruptured causing a water leak. Have you removed and tested the valve?

They are cheap and easy to rebuild.

Re: Inner Fender color

Never have I seen it on the inner fender aprons. All the western built cars is was a semi gloss black. Some eastern built cars have the core support and inner fenders body color.

True, the floors and trunk inside areas were sprayed with this, the color ranges from a light grey, to greenish or bluish grey.

Re: More cars for parts

I do have a complete power brake changeover, the price is $400 for everything necessary.

I have some of the Savoy trim, but not a complete set.

I used to use Photobucket for posting photos, but not sure how to go about it now.

More cars for parts

Howdy everyone!

I recently picked up several Savoy sedans, as well as a couple Suburbans, and a couple Sport Suburbans for parts. Also bought a partially restored Sport Sub. with three car's worth of extra parts. I will probably complete the wagon [if I get time] and offer it for sale also.

You're making some excellent progress, Dan!

Hopefully it hasn't been to hot there, that can make the crud scraping much more miserable!!

Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

Not sure who would have a new capacitor, it's basically just a static suppressor for the generator, to improve radio quality. A trick I use when painting an engine compartment, is to use aluminum foil to whap around harnesses and cables, it takes a half the time as paper and tape, and does a nice jo...

Re: '59 Custom

IIRC, Dan, He completed that car late in 2001 and showed it at Sacramento Autorama the next February. As with most car builders or designers, after a few major shows it was sold, and he moved on to a different project. Last I saw this '59 custom, it was owned by someone in the southeast, maybe Flori...

Re: '59 Custom

He was a good customer of mine, some of the cars he did looked great, in my opinion, some not. He passed away a couple years ago.
