Still picking away at the heater issues,all is going well.Re-vamping the heater box so the dampers will open and close correctly,the old cardboard is A little warped but is basically in good shape.I soaked the push button switch overnight in A jar of thin weight oil and hit it with A little compress...

I think as you are right ,it probably was A dealer installed item,I also have the extra groove crank pulley,and my passenger side horn was located on the inside of the core support,I also have the standard cowl/heater core.A lot of the original stuff was missing,probably went to someone on E-Bay,I'm...

I got the dash switch working pretty good,I sprayed the buttons with lube and hit it with compressed air.I am going to see if my NAPA has the rebuild kit for the ranco control valve.Something I noticed I am sure the car had a/c,it still had the compressor bracket on the engine,I see mounting holes u...

Was the leak down the side of the cannister,or out the bolt hole? There is supposed to be A spring at the end of the filter/bolt at the cannister,the bolt will be tight through the seal,just turn the bolt like threading A nut till the threads are through.I think the old cannister may have stuck stil...

Lee; There is no hose to the tranny,the kick down is at the pedal/carb linkage,is it hooked up, and adjusted properly? If you are new to the car get A 1958 shop manual and the 1959 suplement manual,it has alot of info in it.As far as going into 3rd I dont know what to tell you,check the clutch bands...
