Re: Generator question
Hey john....well, the battery keeps dying....so I was charging it up, letting it run, and then when trying to restart, would drag and eventually not start...I tested the generator twice at 6.5 volts and the regulator is new...so probably good guess that it's the generator., but will test the volt. R...

Re: Correct Mirrors
Bought a really really really nice fender mirror off ebay , almost looks NOS...that I think may work for my '59 SF., but not 100% sure. I think the main mirror housing/portion is correct, but has another secondary metal base on it too...it's a remote mirror for the driver's side... The main mirror a...

Brake lights and tail lights
Again., first time SF owner, so lots of questions...only a few left.... #1 Working on the tail lights and brake lights...I have all of the rear lights working...new bulbs etc. so they all light up. The inner "running lights" that are closest to the liscense plate are brighter then the outt...

Generator question
Probably simple for someone to answer. My "amp" light is on in my 59 SF. Just got it started for the first time the other day and am fixing all the electrical "gremlins" and tell you , there was/is a lot. I tested the generator and it's only putting out 6.3 volts....I think they ...

Re: Question #2
I got it all hooked up today (power brakes) and the new power brake set up is really nice...I am glad I took the time to change it out from the manual brakes....world of difference.

Re: Corrrect Maser Cylinder
Installed the master cylinder I had bought originally and it worked...I measured the bore and installed it and took a while to get the brakes bled, but they work...I think I need to adjust the pedal rod some because they go almost to the floor (power brakes). My brakes are completely rebuilt., new e...

Re: 1959 SF Torqueflite pushbuttons
Hey Mr Kungfupanda...I Will chime in since I am up here on the forum...I just "rebuilt" my push button mechanism..."the springs" usually rust and break and that is critical to make the mechanism work properly(springs)...if you use a spring that is too stiff., the button will just...

Replacing Windsheild
Man., what a disappointment. Finished up my dash., painting, installed it...went to put the original windshield back in and ...CRRRRAAACK...right at the end of my installation. So now no windshield....The new rubber winshield gasket I think was too thick., too big or something., cause I tried severa...

OK., quite confused about these master cylinders.....I went to Rockauto .com to order a new one...and some/most list as manual brakes and some don't list anything, manual or power brakes....does anyone know for sure the dorman part number for a 59 plymouth with power brakes/318? I think it is Dorman...

Taking out light switch
So what is the magic trick on taking out the light switch from the 1959 SF dash?...can't get the "stalk" out to take the switch out. Can loosen the retaining nut., but of course can't get the switch out....was looking for a hex screw on the knob or a release button on the light switch, but...
