Hi Matty - I had a 4 bbl. AFB Carb. on my 318 Poly that was giving me similar problems. I rebuilt it twice to no avail so I replaced it with a New Carter 600 cfm Carb. with electric choke (the AFB is 450 cfm) Edelbrock will work as well. Hi Jeremy - Wish I could go, my first new car was a 57 Plymouth, I was 23 years old. But it's quite a drive from South Florida and with the price of gas I'll have to pass. I will rely on you guys letting us know how it was.

What I do is take Plumbers Dum Dum which is a kind of soft putty that never really hardens and form it and push it around the wires protruding through the holes. Also, where there is a nut with the putty inside I add a little Dum Dum before screwing it on the clip. Works for me.
