Re: Head Gasket ?

wasn't Matt chained up last year ?? Indeed he was, Mark, at Dick's house. But Dick FedEx'd the chains to me, and I'm the beneficiary this year. He was ever-so-close to taking a field trip to Erie, PA! But I talked him off the ledge, it seems things are in good hands with you. Things are sounding go...

Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

Matthew is a Madman!! Virtually all of the trim is on now - the windshield and rear window being the exception (although he already started on the rear window). The grille is also in, and one bumper wing, just for show! We agree, we need to pull the bumper, hang the wings and reinstall with the bump...

But it's 97 in the garage, and Matthew is jet-lagged (to say nothing about his headache), so it's quits for the day.
Or so I thought. When I woke up from my Power Nap (TM), Matthew was back at it in the garage. One side is completely done!

Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

I had to drill some of the plastic surround on the front speaker to get it to fit on the speaker grille, but once I did, it bolted right in. All the speakers are in, and even the radio is now in - I just have to wire it all up. Fortunately, the rebuilt radio comes with a harness - once I make the co...

Re: Head Gasket ?

Mark, it does sound like a head gasket - and, retorqueing might be all that it takes. I found that my intake manifold needed retorqueing, after I was spraying folks behind me with antifreeze: http://59plymouth.net/59forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=1325 In my case, I decided to replace the intake gaskets,...

Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

Matthew, I'll be putting two rear speakers in at the proper locations on the package shelf, but the holes for the bolts don't align. Those are the holes that need to be drilled. The holes do align - I don't know what I was smoking when I concluded that I had to drill holes. I didn't have to drill t...

Re: Carlisle 2019!

I was able to find a company to produce them [T-shirts] for $15! I ordered just for Mark, Dieter, and myself because I had no other takers. But if you have any interest, let me know ASAP, there's a chance I can still take delivery before Carlisle. Doncha know, the T-shirt company now tells me I nee...

Re: Faulkner gets a Redo

Handles are on, and locks are in! I fretted that this might be difficult - and, indeed it was. But a little caulk on the nuts kept them in the socket while I threaded a thin extender through the gaps with a swivel adapter, and when I felt the nuts snug up I knew I was in business. Also finished touc...

Re: Carlisle 2019!

OK, a last minute thought - I'm thinking of a repeat on T-Shirts. Because they will have a '59 on the back and the front, they'll cost more than your typical shirt - somewhere between $18 - $25, depending on how many takers I get. I expect I'll order by this time next week, so let me know if you're...
